How much are you asking? KBB (which is almost always on the high side) says 13,900 in excellent condition.

EDIT: Just kidding I had the mileage wrong KBB says 16k. Every car I have sold or traded has gone for 75/85% of KBB. I’d list at 14 if you want to wait and see. 12-13 if you just want it gone.

I have it listed it at 16k, KKB says 16.4k. Carmax offered me 12.5k and some other third party service called me and was like can we see and we’ll make you an offer and I was like fuck it why not so we’ll see what they offer.

Yea 12.5 is about right for trade maybe a little low. I got 24k on an E90 M3 that KBB said was worth 30k (trade). However I had to negotiate to get there, they started at 18,500 lol.

I’d be happy with anything north of 13 on yours, as selling a car is a huge pain. I’m interested to hear what the third party offers.

Oh yea, def wait it out if you owe on it, you should be able to cover that. That’s crazy that carmax wouldn’t close such a small gap ($700). Even though it’s less that you (or I) would want to get for it. I can usually be persuaded with a payoff just because of the convenience factor.

So I got contacted by a third party to help sell my car, the deal is they get to try and sell it and I get try and sell it. If it doesn’t sell in 30 days they come pick it up and give me a check, or if they sell it they give me the same amount, or if I sell it then all I have to do is tell them. Their offer is for 1k more than I owe on it, so I said fuck it, their offer was also 2k more than carmax, I need out of it, plus it needs tires, so this is the best option all things considered.

I’ve tossed around the idea of selling my 11 128i 6 speed manual. It has 84k miles on it though. I owe 11.7k on it and I’d like to get at least what I owe. I’d be happy to walk away as a wash. Love the car, but I feel like it might be a time bomb eventually with something major just getting ready to go...

really? I’ve seen NADA and KBB take off value for the manual. I’m in Western NY. Even have a set of blizzaks and the runflats it came with.

I don’t trust KBB, they really only seem to account for depreciation and that’s it. They don’t take account the fact that there are a lot of people out there, me included, would pay more for a stick because they’re hard to find. Look at the prices of E90 M3s, similarly equipped with the same mileage, manual ones seem to go for 1-2k more than DCT ones. I’m not in a position to own two cars right now, but when I am again, I’ll be looking for another stick BMW, I’d gladly pay 500-1000 more for one with three pedals .
